Thanks a lot for all your help! All the German past events will be probably updated after tomorrow - priority is now to update for the Global Day of Action on the 20th.
“On arrival at the Greek embassy we observed that the frontage had been splattered with red paint and at least three windows had been broken sometime previously”
international action day - 20/12/08 spontaneous demonstration in offenburg (south-west germany). around 35 people, banners, leaflets, pyrotechnic and lots of slogans... normally things like this don't happen in such a small town!!! german indymedia article
In Toulouse, just like a week ago, more than hundred people gathered in solidarity, circled by a lot of police forces (plain clothes, political police, officers and anti riots units fully equiped). But unlike the previous week, the gathering went without clash with the police. The french translation of the GSEE declaration has been distributed around.
The gathering has been joind by 200 workers (unemployed, contracted workers and workers of the entertainement sector) which are fighting against the new dole rules. Then the demo went to a Virgin store to occupy it (the DG of french Virgin branch is the actual CEO of the french dole organization, together with unionists). The unionist bureaucrats that were participating to the domo weren't very pleased to see the GSEE declaration to be spreaded amongst the protestors ...
After one our, the people in solidarity with greek insurgents continue their way (while the others maintained the occupation till closure of the store), to go to the Italian Consulate (there is no greek one in Toulouse, and Italians too are on struggle currently !). Then an anarchosyndicalist read a declaration (to be listen here : http://anarsonore.free.fr/spip.php?article267)
In the same time, in Montauban (small city of 57 000 inhabitants) the local anarcosyndicalists from CNT-AIT organized a public meeting, and they distributed hundreds of leaflets (french translation of the GSEE declaration) to the passer-by.
Just post a comment under the map. Make sure that you include the exact date, time and location of the event and at least one working link to a source, and optionally links to reports. Thanks!
